James Greenland

James leads Savills' rural and residential consultancy team across the southern counties of England and is based in the Bath and Bristol offices.

James has over 30 years experience in valuations, expert witness instructions and wider consultancy projects across the residential and rural sectors.  

He provides freehold and leasehold valuations of residential (prime properties and mainstream portfolios), rural and agricultural properties. James values for loan security, taxation, matrimonial, leasehold enfranchisement and negotiation purposes. His considerable experience has led to many expert witness instructions and he has given evidence in courts and tribunals on a number of occasions.

Compulsory purchase is also an area of James' practice, with instructions in respect of the A303 improvements in Somerset, the restoration of the Portishead to Bristol rail line and a longstanding involvement at Hinkley Point in Somerset, acting for EDF Energy.

Within Savills, James sits on the management board for the rural division in southern England and the national rural consultancy working group.  He also chairs the rural division's expert witness group and sits on the company wide expert witness steering group.
